Ruth Doorley
Ruth Doorley is a textile artist and frenetic recycler. A preoccupation with our modern lifestyle of consumption and waste inspires her to utilise discarded or used objects in her artwork.
The materials for the exhibition piece come from Ruth’s hoarded wardrobe. The piece aims to be expressive of an individual perspective of the overwhelming crisis of climate change that humanity now faces; a crisis of our own making.
16.4.1 is a mixed media exhibition by 16 artists engaged in a situation specific collective at PLANE / SITE Galleries – Lad Lane (off Baggot Street), Dublin 2. Curated by Fionnuala Mahon and Sharon Murphy. It opens Friday the 4th of December and continues to the 20th of December 2009.
